İnan Kıraç's lawyers removed from duty! Court rules following daughter İpek Kıraç's request
Upon İpek Kıraç's request, the court has revoked the power of attorney of İnan Kıraç's lawyers. Following the decision, the lawyers also resigned from representing Emine Alagonya.
Kıraça Holding Chairman of the Board, 88-year-old İnan Kıraç, married 75-year-old Emine Alangoya in the final days of 2024. However, this marriage was brought to court through a lawsuit filed by İnan Kıraç's daughter, İpek Kıraç.
İpek Kıraç applied to the court for the annulment of her father's marriage, alleging that İnan Kıraç was not of sound mind. Following a court order, İnan Kıraç was referred to the Council of Forensic Medicine, where he was diagnosed with "dementia." Consequently, the court issued a restriction order and appointed a legal guardian for İnan Kıraç.
COURT TERMINATES LAWYERS' DUTIES
Ahead of the marriage annulment hearing scheduled for May 27, İpek Kıraç submitted a new petition to the court through her lawyers. The petition stated that the authority to represent İnan Kıraç now belongs to his legal guardians and that the current lawyers were not appointed by these guardians. Therefore, it was requested that the lawyers' power of attorney be terminated.
The Istanbul 2nd Civil Court of Peace ruled to terminate the legal representation duties of Köksal Bayraktar, Mehmet İpek, and Sıtkı Anlam Altay on behalf of İnan Kıraç and ordered the deletion of their UYAP records.
LAWYERS ANNOUNCE RESIGNATION
Following the decision, the lawyers in question notified the Istanbul Anatolian 18th Family Court that they had also resigned from representing Emine Alangoya. The lawyers, including Köksal Bayraktar, Mehmet İpek, Sıtkı Anlam Altay, and others, declared in their submitted petition that they would no longer represent Alangoya.
