Kenan Küçüközcan, composer of 'Çilli Bom', laid to rest: Buried in a potter's field with only 5 people present

Kenan Küçüközcan, who contributed unforgettable works to Turkish music and left his mark on an era, had been taken to the hospital after falling ill at the Erdemli Nursing Home, where he had been staying for some time.

Despite all interventions, Küçüközcan passed away at the age of 77 due to multiple organ failure.

5 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE FUNERAL

The artist's body was taken from the Erdemli State Hospital morgue and transported to the Çet Tepesi Cemetery in the Koyuncu neighborhood of Mersin.

The funeral prayer was performed by an imam affiliated with the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Funeral Services and 4 other people working in the same unit.

The artist was then buried in the cemetery for the unclaimed.

WHO IS KENAN KÜÇÜKÖZCAN?

Born in Istanbul on April 14, 1947, Kenan Küçüközcan began his music career at a young age and achieved a major breakthrough in the 1970s.

The artist, who performed unforgettable works such as "Çilli Bom," "Askerliğim Bitince," and "Ayrı Yaşayan Kalpler," secured an important place on the music charts of the period with his Turkish and English compositions.

Küçüközcan, who was chosen as the “Most Promising Male Artist of the Year” in 1972, moved to America during the peak of his career but returned to Turkey in 1996. In his final years, the artist, who was unable to meet his own needs, settled into the Mersin Erdemli Nursing Home about 2 months ago.

In addition to iconic works like "Çilli Bom," Kenan Küçüközcan remained in memory with songs such as "Benim Yarım Çok Güzeldir," "Deli Oğlan," and "Senden Sonra."
