Miss Universe 2024 has been crowned! Who represented Turkey?

The 2024 Miss Universe pageant was held in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico.

The 73rd edition of the pageant was hosted by "Saved by the Bell" star Mario Lopez and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, while American singer Robin Thicke performed in the finale.

MISS UNIVERSE FROM DENMARK

The 2024 Miss Universe pageant, in which 126 beauty queens competed, was won by Danish beauty Victoria Kjær Theilvig, who earned the title of Miss Universe 2024.

Victoria Kjær Theilvig became the first Dane to win the pageant by wearing the Miss Universe 2024 crown.

The 21-year-old contestant, who is a dancer, entrepreneur, and also a lawyer, outperformed 126 contestants in the beauty pageant.

The person chosen as Miss Universe in 2023 was Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios.

21-year-old Theilvig received her crown from Palacios.

CONTESTANTS WERE ASKED QUESTIONS IN THE FINALE

The 5 finalists faced questions on various topics. When asked how she would live differently if no one judged her, Theilvig told the jury she would not change anything and added, "I live in the moment."

Later, when asked to say something to those watching her on screen, the contestant said, "No matter where you come from, keep fighting. I stand here today because I want a change, I want to make history, and I am doing that tonight."

Theilvig, who came in first in the competition, was followed by Nigerian Chidimma Adetshina, Mexican Maria Fernanda Beltran, Thai Suchata Chuangsri, and Venezuelan Ileana Marquez Pedroza, respectively.

A FIRST IN PAGEANT HISTORY

This year, for the first time in the 72-year history of Miss Universe, women over the age of 28 were allowed to participate in the competition. Beatrice Njoya from Malta became the first and only woman in her 40s to reach the grand finale.

WHO REPRESENTED TURKEY?

The winner of the first-place crown at "Miss Universe Turkey" was 20-year-old Germany-born Ayliz Duman.

20-year-old Ayliz Duman represented Turkey in the 73rd Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Duman thanked those who supported her on her social media account, saying, "It was truly a very beautiful experience. Still, I learned a lot from this process and it was a great opportunity for me to improve myself."
