Pelin Karahan's rent crisis: Landlord initiates enforcement proceedings
Famous actress Pelin Karahan has made headlines over allegations that she failed to pay the rent for a house in Beykoz, Istanbul, which she had rented for her mother. The landlord stated that the rent payments were not made and initiated enforcement proceedings. The legal process between the parties is ongoing.
Famous actress Pelin Karahan's name has surfaced in the latest landlord-tenant dispute. According to the allegations, Karahan rented a house in Beykoz, Istanbul, for her mother, Seher Nural Koçyiğit, but the rent payments were not made. The matter was brought to public attention by the landlord.
CONTRACT SIGNED THEN DENIED
The landlord, identified as Batuhan Bey, stated that a two-year contract was signed in 2023, for which Pelin Karahan's husband, Bedri Güntay, also acted as a guarantor.
However, he later stated that the tenant side denied the contract, claiming that the signatures did not belong to them.
RENT AND EVICTION CRISIS CONTINUES
Batuhan Bey said that the rent due for 2024 has not been paid and that the eviction has not taken place. "We filed a lawsuit in October 2023, and the process is currently ongoing. We initiated enforcement proceedings, but there is still no response. Not only have I not received the rent, but they have also not vacated the house," he said.
The legal process continues due to the dispute between the parties. While the landlord states that he has been aggrieved, no statement has yet been made by the Pelin Karahan camp.
