Revealed on Nihal Candan's phone: Who is this 'Yogini' group? They sent the same messages to her sister too

Following the passing of the famous influencer Nihal Candan in recent days, the messages found on her phone were chilling. Candan's close friend, makeup artist Tolgahan Karataş, made striking statements on Pınar Kerimoğlu's YouTube program. Karataş alleged that Nihal Candan was manipulated in a WhatsApp group called "Yogini," that her religious sentiments were exploited, and that similar messages were sent to Nihal's sister, Bahar Candan.

Nihal Candan had been diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa while in prison and was released due to health issues. However, her condition worsened after her release, and she was hospitalized and began receiving treatment in intensive care.

The influencer, who reportedly refused treatment for a time, saw her health deteriorate further as she lost weight, with her weight dropping as low as 23 kilograms. Candan's death on June 21, 2025, has sparked many debates.

“YOU MUST EAT GREEN” MESSAGES

Tolgahan Karataş shared the WhatsApp correspondence found on Nihal Candan's phone, alleging that she was pressured not to eat and was manipulated through religious beliefs.

Karataş stated that the "Yogini" group, which Candan was a part of, contained messages such as, "If you eat meat, your connection with God will be severed; you must eat rice, don't eat that, don't do that! You only need to eat green. The less you eat, the more your 'heart's eye' will open." Karataş said he believes these types of manipulative messages were sent not only to Nihal but also to others in the group.

SIMILAR MESSAGES SENT TO BAHAR CANDAN TOO

Tolgahan Karataş claimed that Nihal's phone is currently with her sister, Bahar Candan, and that similar manipulative messages were sent to Bahar as well. According to Karataş, messages were sent to Bahar Candan saying, "If you do what we say, your relationship with your sister will improve, and you will see your sister more often." It is alleged that these types of messages were part of a manipulation process aimed at influencing Bahar as well.

Tolgahan Karataş stated that he began receiving threats after sharing the shocking messages from Nihal Candan's phone with the public. "I have received threats following my posts. A large number of people have started to pressure me," he said.
