Singer Sezen Aksu becomes target of fraudsters
Sezen Aksu was defrauded of 220 thousand TL by an individual claiming to call from the Beyoğlu Municipality under the guise of a donation campaign for children.
A person calling on behalf of the Beyoğlu Municipality told singer Sezen Aksu that they were collecting donations for orphaned children.
Aksu agreed with this person for 420 thousand liras and initially sent 220 thousand liras to the account.
Aksu's assistant became suspicious and contacted the Beyoğlu Municipality. They learned that no such campaign existed.
Realizing she had been defrauded, Sezen Aksu filed a complaint.
