The art world in mourning: İlhan Şeşen laid to rest

Master musician İlhan Şeşen, who created unforgettable songs such as Sarılınca Sana, Ellerimde Çiçekler, and Neler Oluyor Bize, has passed away at the hospital where he had been receiving treatment for some time.

The 76-year-old artist, who was battling lung cancer, lost his life yesterday.

FAMOUS NAMES ATTENDED THE FAREWELL CEREMONY

A farewell ceremony was held for İlhan Şeşen today at the Caddebostan Cultural Center in Kadıköy.

The ceremony was attended by the artist's family, his nephews Burhan Şeşen and Gökhan Şeşen, as well as many famous names including Sunay Akın, Talat Bulut, Yonca Lodi, and Ferdi Akarnur.

“HE CHASED HIS DREAMS”

Speaking to Magazin Burada, İlhan Şeşen’s daughter Melis Şeşen shared her feelings at the ceremony with these words:

“He was very happy to see us all together at the end. I can probably only say this: He was one of those people who chased their dreams. That is what I respect the most. He had the courage to chase his dreams. It was a beautiful thing to witness that.”

The artist's ex-wife, Arzu Şeşen, said, “We could barely see or talk to each other in the last two months.”

TO BE LAID TO REST IN ÜSKÜDAR

A funeral prayer for İlhan Şeşen will be held at 13:10 at the Şakirin Mosque in Karacaahmet, Üsküdar. The master musician will be interred at Karacaahmet Cemetery.
