The life of Aşık Veysel is being turned into a film! There are 3 candidates for the lead role

The life of Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu, the creator of unforgettable folk songs such as "Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım" (I Am on a Long and Narrow Road) and "Benim Sadık Yarim Kara Topraktır" (My Faithful Lover is the Black Earth), will be made into a film.

Last year was celebrated as the Year of Aşık Veysel in Turkey to mark the 50th anniversary of the passing of the great folk poet, who left us in 1973.

Sivas Mayor Adem Uzun, who felt that a celebration worthy of his name was not held in Aşık Veysel's hometown of Sivas, has taken action to support a film project depicting the life of the folk poet.

According to the report in Sabah newspaper, preparations have begun for the film about Veysel, who lived a life full of sorrow after losing both his eyes.
