TÜİK announces Turkey's unhappiest cities! The province at the top is surprising

The "Life Satisfaction Survey" published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has revealed the cities with the highest rates of unhappiness relative to their population. According to the results, the Black Sea Region holds significant weight on the list.

The survey showed that unhappiness rates are high across a wide spectrum, from small-scale provinces to metropolises. The fact that Trabzon, Samsun, Ordu, and Gümüşhane are ranked particularly high has once again highlighted the impact of regional factors and socioeconomic conditions.

The ranking of the unhappiest provinces from bottom to top:

9- Gümüşhane – Population: 144,544 | Unhappiness rate: 7.68%

8- Ordu – Population: 763,190 | Unhappiness rate: 8.75%

7- Çorum – Population: 524,130 | Unhappiness rate: 9.1%

6- Istanbul – Population: 15,907,951 | Unhappiness rate: 9.12%

5- Samsun – Population: 1,368,488 | Unhappiness rate: 9.72%

4- Ankara – Population: 5,782,285 | Unhappiness rate: 9.95%

3- İzmir – Population: 4,462,056 | Unhappiness rate: 10.65%
