Yavuz Seçkin recounts that moment between Gülse Birsel and Vural Çelik for the first time

Actor Vural Çelik (51), known for his role as Kubilay in Avrupa Yakası and who later appeared in many other productions, passed away on October 17.

Gülse Birsel, who worked with Vural Çelik for many years, did not attend his funeral and instead bid farewell to her former co-star with a message shared on her social media account.

"I LOST A COLLEAGUE TOO SOON"

"My farewell to Vural... I haven't been able to attend funerals for a few years. (An anxiety I need to resolve.) Funerals, setting aside the religious ceremony part, exist to commemorate and bid farewell to the deceased. I will do this by writing," said Birsel, who continued with the following statements:

"I lost a colleague too soon. I am shocked and saddened. Vural Çelik joined the second season of Avrupa Yakası for a one-episode role as Kubilay. He gave a very sweet performance. That week, I told the producer, 'I want to write for him every episode if possible,' and Vural joined the team. He was one of a kind. He was like the child of the set. He would get offended by everyone for reasons we didn't know, and then he would ask for gifts to make up. As this gift topic became a joke on set, he started entering the studio with the sentence, 'What are you buying me this week, Gülse?' He was a childlike spirit whom we laughed with a lot and always tried to look after so he would be happy.

Yavuz Seçkin, Çelik's co-star from the series Avrupa Yakası, spoke on the program Aramızda Kalmasın about what happened between Vural Çelik and Gülse Birsel.

"VURAL WANTED TO TALK TO GÜLSE"

The actor, who played the character "Sertaç" in the series, said, "I wanted to say this while the topic came up. Vural was a very good friend of mine at that time. We would call each other, we would joke around. He would complain, 'Why don't you call?' He had a loneliness within himself. Of course, we are all sad that we lost Vural so early. I couldn't go to his funeral, I was on tour. Gülse also explained why she couldn't go. But Gülse is almost being declared responsible for this early death."

Gürler was asked again about Gülse Birsel's farewell message. Gürler said, "During the time we worked together, I did not witness any situation between anyone.
