Johnny Wactor, an actor known for his role in the long-running US soap opera General Hospital, has passed away at the age of 37.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the actor encountered three men attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle and was shot by them around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
After emergency teams arrived at the scene, Wactor was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police stated that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and have not yet been arrested.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
'A DETERMINED PERSON'
Wactor's talent manager David Shaul confirmed his death to Variety, stating, "Johnny Wactor was a spectacular human being. Not just a talented actor committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. We stand for hard work, tenacity and a never give up attitude."
