Grammy-winning artist Chris Botti performs in Istanbul: 'A wonderful feeling'
Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti met with music lovers at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater. During the concert, the master artist performed a repertoire that included pieces such as "Danny Boy," "Someday My Prince Will Come," "Two For The Road," "When I Fell In Love," "Feelin' Good," "Paris," "Hallelujah," and "Wonderful World."
At the concert, Chris Botti was accompanied by an orchestra consisting of Lee Pearson, Dan Chmielinski, Leonardo Amuedo, Andy Ezrin, Chad LB, and Anastasiia Mazurok.
The vocals were performed by Sy Smith and John Splithoff.
'IT IS WONDERFUL TO BE IN YOUR CITY'
Botti, one of the best-selling contemporary jazz trumpeters in the music world, recalled in his speech during the concert that he had performed at the Harbiye Open-Air Theater in 2001 as part of Sting's orchestra, saying, "It is wonderful to be back in this magnificent city of yours. As a touring musician who is on the road to perform about 250 concerts a year, I can say that sometimes all concert halls look the same. However, I stepped onto the stage here today and realized that 24 years ago, I was on this same stage with Sting, in his orchestra. This is a wonderful feeling."
Art enthusiasts showed great interest in the concert, which was held with the main sponsorship of JRO Yatırım. At the end of the event, which lasted approximately 2.5 hours, the artist invited all the audience to the front of the stage and had a fan named Devrim sing the song "Wonderful World."

Botti, one of the best-selling contemporary jazz trumpeters in the music world, has shared the stage with Sting, Paul Simon, Barbra Streisand, and Lady Gaga throughout his career.
The artist, who has won numerous gold and platinum records, has performed concerts on prestigious stages with world-renowned orchestras.
Following the Istanbul leg of his 41-concert world tour, the artist will perform in Dubai, Paris, and London.
