Actress Gülçin Santırcıoğlu (46) enjoys a happy marriage with her husband, mechanical engineer İbrahim Utku Başyazıcı. Santırcıoğlu had previously drawn attention with her statement: "My husband and I are not thinking about having children.
Sometimes we receive reactions because we don't want children; this situation seems strange to people.
I don't like to speak definitively, but we don't have such thoughts right now."
'MOTHERHOOD' CONFESSION CAUSES A STIR
46-year-old Gülçin Santırcıoğlu was a guest on the program "Aslı Şafak'la İşin Aslı." The famous actress, who has been married to mechanical engineer İbrahim Utku Başyazıcı for 10 years, explained her views on motherhood.
"WE HAVE NEVER FELT THE NEED FOR A CHILD"
Gülçin Santırcıoğlu said, "We have never felt the need for a child, we don't feel it, and we won't... Some call it 'selfishness,' but private school... Or it's not that I mean 'one shouldn't bring a child into this life'... I truly prefer to travel with that money... I want to remain a lover. I don't want 'mother' added to my titles. To those who do, good for them, may they raise them happily; I have nothing to say."
WHO IS GÜLÇİN SANTIRCIOĞLU?
Gülçin Santırcıoğlu (born July 25, 1977, İzmir, Turkey) is a Turkish television and film actress.
She was born in İzmir in 1977. She studied at the Dokuz Eylül University Conservatory, Department of Performing Arts, Opera and Singing. Alongside her acting career, she worked as a soloist in various groups and as a vocal coach at the Ruhi Su Culture and Art Foundation. Her first feature film, Türev, won the Best Film award at the 2005 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. With her role as Süreyya in this film, she was deemed worthy of the "Promising Actress" award at the 13th ÇASOD awards.
She became known nationwide for her role as Hatice in the series Elveda Rumeli, which became a classic. In 2007, she starred alongside Nejat İşler, Saadet Işıl Aksoy, and Ufuk Bayraktar in the film Yumurta, the first film of director Semih Kaplanoğlu's Yumurta, Süt, Bal trilogy. The film received awards at various national and international festivals. In 2008, her third feature film, İki Çizgi, in which she shared the lead role with Kaan Keskin, participated in over 30 national and international festivals, including the 65th Venice Film Festival and the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
Afterward, she took part in various film and television projects. In 2012, she sang the song "Ala Gözlerini Sevdiğim Dilber" on the Badem group's album "Badem ve Konukları." The actress, who also served as a jury member at the 2013 Rotterdam Golden Tulip Film Festival, most recently appeared in the series Kara Ekmek and Oyunbozan.
