Artist Ahmet Kaya's wife, Gülten Kaya Hayaloğlu, announced via her social media account that they have initiated legal proceedings to prevent the release of the biographical film titled 'Ahmet'in Türküsü', which had been announced for a March 1 release.

In her statement, Gülten Kaya emphasized that the film in question disregards the artist's reputation and values, aiming only to generate financial gain through his name, and stated, "A true Ahmet Kaya film will certainly be made, and we will be the ones to share that news with you first."

Gülten Kaya's statement is as follows:

"We bring to the attention of the public that we do not support this commercial project, which claims to be about the artist Ahmet Kaya—who left us 24 years ago and whose will we represent—a project we are ashamed to even call a 'film' and which we view as a disrespect primarily to the artist himself and to all his fans.

Recognize these individuals who, by disregarding the artist's reputation and values, are only striving to generate financial gain through his name; who turn their backs on his ideas, emotions, works, fans, family, children, and ideals, and who want to forcibly include Ahmet Kaya in a brutal market cycle and the 'biographical film' craze."

Do not give credence to these tools of commercial exploitation marketed as an 'Ahmet Kaya Film'. Those who barbarically instrumentalize the heavy and tragic story of Ahmet Kaya's short life are cunning merchants trying to rebuild their collapsing careers through the name of Ahmet Kaya.

When the time finally runs out for these merchants and their trade—who are far from the genuine and essential concerns of fully grasping a life and conveying it to the audience, and who are amateur enough to create a script from scraps of misinformation obtained from search engines, increasingly vulgarizing the cinema industry—a true Ahmet Kaya film will certainly be made, and we will be the ones to share that news with you first."
