A harassment scandal has occurred on the set of the TV series 'Gönül Dağı', which airs on TRT 1. Hair assistant Zeynep Çetinkaya filed a lawsuit against the set's makeup chief, Kardelen Özbek, alleging that she had harassed her.
In the hearing held at the Sivrihisar Criminal Court of First Instance the other day, Kardelen Özbek was found guilty. The court sentenced her to 1 year and 8 months in prison.
The following statements were included in the written declaration issued by the Cinema TV Union:
"Our colleague Zeynep Çetinkaya, who worked as a hair assistant on the TV series project titled 'Gönül Dağı', produced by Köprü Film, was sexually harassed by Kardelen Özbek, who worked as the makeup chief on the same set, and was unfairly dismissed by the production company despite reporting the harassment she was subjected to."
"In the verdict reached in the case file that we have been following as a union, the court found Kardelen Özbek, who sexually harassed Zeynep Çetinkaya, guilty and decided to punish her. We stand with Zeynep Çetinkaya!"
