A ceremony was held for Yurdagül Eken at the Urla Mortuary in the Urla district of İzmir. Her daughter Öngül Eken, granddaughter Gülce Akol, son-in-law Ali Akol, in-laws Hülya Öney and Mehmet Öney, and her neighbors were present at the ceremony.

It was observed that Mehmet Ali Erbil was not present at the ceremony. Following the funeral prayer, which was performed without delay, Eken was buried in the Zeytinalan Cemetery on top of the grave of her husband, Ömer Önder Eken.

Speaking during the funeral, Öngül Eken stated that her brother, Mehmet Ali Erbil, could not attend the ceremony due to his health condition.

Mehmet Ali Erbil announced the news of his mother's passing on his social media account yesterday with the words, "We lost our dear mother at the age of 91. May we have our condolences." Erbil's decision to open a live broadcast on TikTok hours after this post drew backlash on social media.
