Heartbreaking post from Volkan Konak's wife

Volkan Konak, known by the nickname "Son of the North" and who reached a wide fan base with his music, suffered a heart attack on stage during a concert he gave in Cyprus during the Ramadan Feast. Despite all efforts, the artist could not be resuscitated and passed away at the age of 58.

The first memorial ceremony was held in Istanbul. Konak's body, which was sent off with a funeral prayer at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque in Levent following the noon prayer, was taken to his hometown of Maçka, Trabzon. He was laid to rest there following a ceremony held in the Güney neighborhood.

Following the artist's passing, his family shared their feelings by publishing a thank-you message on social media. The message included the following statements:

Selma Konak, Volkan Konak's life partner of 35 years, made a heartbreaking post following the loss. Konak expressed her deep love for her husband with these sentences:

"A dark, pitch-black night... On the night of March 30, Turkey lost the Son of the North, and I lost my soul. My heart aches so much that it is impossible to describe it with words. 'Ours was not a love story. Ours was Love, the rest is just a story.' We were so attached to each other that we lived every moment together, we dedicated every moment to each other. Now, trying to understand a life without him, feeling the void in my heart is very difficult.

Your face is in my eyes, your voice is in my ears. Just as the Black Sea has been left orphaned, I have been left incomplete without you. My poet-souled, poetic-worded Volkan; this is how separations are experienced on the path to reunion. You left behind unfinished, farewell-less loneliness... Until the day we reunite."

THEIR WEDDING DREAMS CAME TRUE, ALBEIT LATE

Volkan and Selma Konak had married with a simple civil ceremony due to financial difficulties at the time. The couple, who had three children, realized their dreams years later and crowned their happiness with a meaningful wedding on their 25th wedding anniversary.
