Hollywood star Christina Applegate shares bad news
Christina Applegate, who has been battling multiple sclerosis (MS) since 2021, has announced that her daughter, Sadie, has been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
"Married... with Children" star Christina Applegate's 13-year-old daughter, Sadie, spoke about her diagnosis on the Tuesday episode of Applegate's "MeSsy" podcast, noting that she now better understands her mother's struggle with multiple sclerosis.
Sadie said, "I have something called POTS. I have no idea what that really means, but it has something to do with the autonomic nervous system and it affects my heart. When I stand up, I get really dizzy, my legs get really weak, and I feel like I'm going to faint."
A CHRONIC CONDITION
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, POTS, officially known as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, is a chronic condition that affects the autonomic nervous system and blood circulation.
People with POTS experience a rapid increase in heart rate when standing up from a sitting or lying position; they may also experience dizziness, brain fog, fatigue, exercise intolerance, headaches, blurred vision, palpitations, tremors, fainting, and nausea.
During the podcast, Sadie revealed that she had been suffering from her symptoms for a long time but often did not know what they were.
