Social media influencer Merve Taşkın was placed under investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of 'obscenity' due to a post she made. Taşkın, who was detained by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Morality Bureau on February 14, had been released by the court on the condition of house arrest.
DEMAND FOR UP TO 3 YEARS IN PRISON
Following the completion of the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office, a lawsuit was filed against Taşkın seeking up to 3 years in prison for the crime of 'obscenity'.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Merve Taşkın was detained due to a post she made on her social media account, which included the following statements: "I can be a girlfriend for 'dinner' for those who are alone on February 14. Fee: 400,000 TL. My features: I am talkative, we can chat a lot. I am beautiful, you can create a good image with me when out. I am known in Turkey, you can satisfy your ego within yourself.
