Hülya Avşar wins lawsuit against tenant: New rent amount determined
Renowned artist Hülya Avşar had been in a long-standing dispute over rent increases with the tenant living in her apartment in Sarıyer Büyükdere. The tenant, who was paying 25,000 TL in rent, refused the increase request, leading the matter to court. At the conclusion of the case, the new rent amount that Avşar will receive has been finalized.
Hülya Avşar ended up in court with the tenant paying 25,000 TL in rent for her apartment in Sarıyer Büyükdere. When the parties could not agree on a rent increase, the process was taken to the judiciary.
After mediation attempts failed to yield results, the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace intervened. In the rent determination lawsuit filed, Avşar was found to be in the right.
The tenant, B.Ş., had started living in the artist's apartment in Büyükdere Neighborhood in 2019 with a rent of 6,000 TL, and was currently paying 25,000 TL. Avşar requested an increase, stating that the rent remained too low. However, when the tenant objected, a dispute arose between the parties.
According to a report by Armağan Yılmaz from Sabah, in the case where the expert report was also examined, the court set the new rent at 45,000 TL. Thus, the tenant B.Ş. will now pay Hülya Avşar 45,000 TL every month.
