Hülya Avşar thanks Minister Yerlikaya for 'holiday measures'

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya was a guest on Fevzi Çakır's program on Habertürk TV. Minister Yerlikaya made statements regarding the measures taken to ensure there is no loss of life on the roads during Eid al-Adha.

Following the announcement of the measures, Hülya Avşar thanked Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya via social media and expressed the following:

"Traffic accidents that occur every holiday, the people we lose, the lives that are burned, unfortunately, cannot be prevented... Moreover, every holiday has a toll of accidents. Therefore, I felt compelled to say that the new rules added to traffic regulations by Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, the radar system, the checks to be carried out with drones, the increase in fines, and even the requirement for couriers to be certified have made me very happy. I wanted to thank you on my own behalf for this modern approach."

WHAT WILL THE EID AL-ADHA MEASURES BE?

Some of the highlights from Minister Ali Yerlikaya's statements are as follows:

''Our traffic rules have only one purpose; that there are no accidents, no deaths, and no injuries. Holidays are days of joy for all of us. Most of the 32 million vehicles and most of the drivers hit the roads all at once during peak times. In such an environment, compliance with the rules is even more essential. We need to be in the field. Between May 30 and June 11, 17 thousand 645 teams and 33 thousand 943 personnel will be on duty. 68 thousand 829 of our police and gendarmerie have been assigned. While we are experiencing the joy of the holiday, they will be on the roads. I am glad they are there.

These are the measures we have taken specifically for this holiday. There are 3 thousand undercover passengers. There are buses and companies that operate scheduled services. We are buying tickets from seats where the driver can be easily observed from the front. 3 thousand undercover passengers will be watching. Is the driver following the rules? Is he complying with the tachograph? He is taking notes on these inside the bus. Meanwhile, he is also noting whether the inspection is being done correctly. At the end of the journey, he takes the microphone from the driver and introduces himself. He says, 'I am so-and-so from the undercover passenger inspection.' If there are faults, action is taken. Or he congratulates the driver and the passengers who use seatbelts. Right next to this, there is a special type of inspection. We have traffic branches at the terminals. We have assigned police inspectors there. Those colleagues of ours are inspecting the traffic branches at the terminals. There are 1485 mobile radars. These will perform speed checks. 10 people die every day due to excessive speed. We also have aerial inspections. 6 thousand 339 hours of inspection will be carried out. I say to the citizens; 'Follow the rules so that the end of the road is a holiday.' When you enter your route and time into the navigation application, you will be able to see the number of active radars, but you will not be able to see their exact locations. We are definitely not setting traps.''
