Hülya Koçyiğit: 'I thought my life was over at 21'

Veteran actress Hülya Koçyiğit participated as a speaker at the Bursa Culture Road Festival. Koçyiğit stated that she experienced vision loss for three days following an accident on the set of the film Rabia at the age of 21. Koçyiğit recounted the event with the words, "I was 21 years old. Participating as a speaker at the Bursa Culture Road Festival, former Yeşilçam actress Hülya Koçyiğit recounted an accident she experienced on the set of the 1973 film Rabia, directed by Süreyya Duru.

Koçyiğit said, "I didn't see anything for 3 days."

'THERE WERE NO STUNT DOUBLES OR SOCIAL SECURITY'

According to Habertürk, Koçyiğit described the unfortunate accident she experienced during the filming of "Rabia" as follows:

"For many years, we didn't have stunt doubles. We performed the dangerous scenes ourselves. We also didn't have social security. There was an unfortunate accident in the film Rabia. I lost my sight for 3 days. I didn't see anything. I was 21 years old and I said, 'My life is over.' On the third day, I started to see again. It was a serious accident for me..."
