Renowned historian and author Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı has shared an important update regarding his health with the public. Ortaylı, who underwent surgery last week for a kidney ailment, suddenly fell ill on Sunday night and was taken for emergency intervention.

Evaluating the process following his second operation, Ortaylı explained what he experienced in his own column. The famous historian described the post-surgery events as follows:

“I had said that last week's surgery went well. However, this Sunday night, I suddenly fell ill. The orderlies and nurses mobilized. They took me into a new surgery. The sudden bleeding stopped.”

Ortaylı also expressed his gratitude to the healthcare workers who performed their duties with great dedication during this difficult process.

It was learned that Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, who was operated on at Koç University Hospital due to a kidney-related ailment, also successfully completed his second operation. It was noted that Ortaylı's health is good after the sudden bleeding was brought under control.
