İlhan Şeşen's funeral procession trapped in elevator for half an hour
Following a farewell ceremony held at the Kadıköy Municipality Caddebostan Cultural Center, the funeral procession for İlhan Şeşen, along with the imam and the honor guard, remained trapped in an elevator for approximately half an hour.
Master artist İlhan Şeşen, 76, who had been receiving treatment for cancer for a long time, passed away recently. A farewell ceremony was held for Şeşen at the Kadıköy Municipality Caddebostan Cultural Center. After the ceremony, İlhan Şeşen's remains were placed in an elevator accompanied by an imam and an honor guard to be taken to the hearse. However, the elevator malfunctioned and stopped between floors.
Şeşen's funeral, the imam, and the duty honor guard remained trapped in the elevator for about half an hour. During that time, the artist's relatives and loved ones waited outside in great distress.
With the intervention of the teams, the elevator doors were opened and those inside were brought out.
Following the ceremony, Şeşen's funeral was taken to the Şakirin Mosque, where the funeral prayer was to be held.
