In which cities do Turkey's tallest and shortest men live?
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), while the average height of men in Turkey is determined to be 173.3 cm, striking results have emerged in some cities that fall below this average.
Although the average height of men across Turkey is measured at 173.3 cm, it has been observed that this figure falls significantly below that in some provinces. The latest research by TÜİK shows that four provinces, particularly in the Black Sea Region, remain below this average.

PROVINCES WITH LOW AVERAGE HEIGHT IN THE BLACK SEA
In the Black Sea Region, there are four cities where the average height of men is below 170 cm. These cities are listed as Rize, Ordu, Trabzon, and Giresun. The fact that these cities are neighbors suggests that regional dietary habits, in addition to genetic factors, may be influential.

THE ONLY EXCEPTION FROM THE SOUTHEAST: ŞANLIURFA
The only exception outside the Black Sea Region is Şanlıurfa. This situation once again highlights the impact of geographical and cultural diversity on physical characteristics.
İZMİR LEADS THE CITIES WITH THE TALLEST HEIGHTS
The research also identified the cities in Turkey with the highest average heights. İzmir tops the list, followed by Bursa and Balıkesir. Antalya stands out as the fourth city with the highest average height.
EXPERT OPINIONS
Experts emphasize that average heights are shaped not only by individual factors but also by social and regional ones. It is stated that geography, genetic structures, living conditions, and dietary habits can create these differences.
