Investigation launched into death of influencer during aesthetic surgery

Mozambican influencer and singer Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini lost her life during an aesthetic surgery she underwent at a private hospital in Istanbul. Following the influencer's death, the Provincial Health Directorate announced that it has launched an investigation into the incident.

The statement read, "Following reports in some media outlets that social media influencer Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini lost her life during an aesthetic operation, it has become necessary to issue a statement to inform the public accurately. Buldrini lost her life despite all interventions due to serious complications that developed during the recovery process following an aesthetic operation she underwent at a private hospital in Istanbul on June 15, 2025.

A judicial process has been initiated regarding the incident, and the exact cause of death will be clarified as a result of the autopsy to be performed. Our Ministry's investigation into the medical process is being conducted meticulously.

Furthermore, upon the ex officio instruction of our directorate, an extraordinary inspection was carried out at the hospital's operating rooms and intensive care units, as well as at the physician's private practice.

The inspection process is ongoing, and efforts are being carried out with sensitivity to clarify all aspects of the incident," the statement concluded.
