Investigation into the death of Volkan Konak: Statement from the police
An investigation has been launched into the death of artist Volkan Konak, who passed away after falling ill on stage.
Famous artist Volkan Konak, known by the nickname 'Son of the North', fell ill during his concert in the city of İskele in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) last night. The famous singer, who received CPR for minutes, could not be saved despite all interventions.
Konak's body was brought to the Forensic Medicine Unit of Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in the capital Nicosia for a preliminary autopsy.
Following the preliminary autopsy conducted there, Konak's body was placed in a coffin and taken to Ercan Airport by a funeral transport vehicle.
It was learned that the body of singer Konak, which was loaded onto a scheduled flight to Istanbul, would later be taken to Trabzon.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO HIS DEATH
The TRNC police announced that an investigation has been launched into Konak's death on stage.
It was reported that the exact cause of Konak's death will be determined by further examination.
