İSKİ announces: Water levels in Istanbul are approaching critical levels

The occupancy rates of the dams supplying water to Istanbul continue to decline. With insufficient rainfall, water levels in the dams have begun to recede.

According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of dams in the megacity was 82.93 percent on April 22, while according to today's data, it has reached 66.62 percent.

The highest water amount in the dams was recorded at the Elmalı Dam with 85.51 percent, and the lowest water amount was recorded at the Istrancalar Dam with 27.75 percent.

According to İSKİ data, as of June 29, the dam occupancy rates in Istanbul are as follows:

• Alibey Dam 49.81 percent

• Büyükçekmece Dam 61.58 percent

• Darlık Dam 72.15 percent

• Elmalı Dam 81.5 percent

• Istrancalar Dam 23.46 percent

• Kazandere Dam 64.95 percent

• Pabuçdere Dam 65.7 percent

• Sazlıdere Dam 51.52 percent

• Terkos Dam 69.49 percent

• Ömerli Dam 73.3 percent
