It might be one of Netflix's best series: A Western miniseries
The Western genre enjoyed its golden age years ago, establishing its own unique narrative patterns and aesthetic language. However, in recent times, some producers have managed to reinterpret this classic genre and elevate it to a different dimension. The production we are talking about is one of the standout miniseries of the Western genre, which has been quiet for a long time.
The series is a miniseries titled Godless, created, written, and directed by Scott Frank (The Queen's Gambit). Starring Jack O'Connell, Michelle Dockery, and Jeff Daniels, the series consists of a total of 7 episodes.

The series is set in 1884. Sheriff John Cook and his team are in pursuit of the notorious outlaw Frank Griffin and his ruthless gang. When they reach the town of Creede, Colorado, they find that the town has been completely massacred, with only one young woman surviving. Cook realizes that this atrocity was committed by Frank's gang and that Roy Goode, a former member who broke away from the gang, has fled with money he stole from them.
Roy, severely wounded, takes refuge on the ranch of Alice Fletcher, who lives outside the town of La Belle on the New Mexico border. Having lost most of its male population in a mining accident, La Belle is now a town dominated by women. Sheriff Cook, thinking that Frank Griffin's next stop might be La Belle, warns the townspeople.

Initially conceived as a film project, Godless was abandoned as a film because the Western genre was not popular at the time; it was later restructured as a television series, and with Scott Frank's cinematic skills, each episode was meticulously prepared with the feel of a film. The series stands out by bringing a modern perspective to the Western genre, featuring female characters at the forefront and reflecting the true nature of the Old West.
