Famous artist Emir Can İğrek has categorically denied allegations regarding his involvement in drug use and announced that he will respond to the matter through legal channels.
A large-scale drug investigation involving several well-known figures from the worlds of art and high society is currently underway in Istanbul. As part of the investigation, blood, urine, and hair samples of certain individuals were examined by the Council of Forensic Medicine. Reports reflected in the press stated that the illegal substance tests of actress Hafsanur Sancaktutan and singers Emir Can İğrek and Ogün Alibaş returned positive.
Claims that prohibited substances and their metabolites were detected, particularly in hair samples, have also found wide resonance on social media. Developments regarding the issue have sparked significant debate within the arts community.
Following the reports mentioning their names, a statement from the Emir Can İğrek camp arrived shortly thereafter. The famous musician defended himself by categorically rejecting the allegations against him. In his statement, İğrek used the following expressions:
"My statement was taken within the scope of the ongoing investigation, and no criminal elements were found during the search of my residence. I have never used the prohibited substances that are the subject of the investigation at any point in my life. This fact is known by everyone who knows me."
