It was claimed she had signed with another manager: Cansu Dere issues statement on Ayşe Barım

The investigation into manager Ayşe Barım, who has been in the spotlight over allegations of monopolization in the television series industry, has evolved into the Gezi Park case.

Ayşe Barım, who is alleged to have been among the planners of the Gezi Park protests, was arrested on charges of aiding an attempt to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey or to prevent it from performing its duties.

Before the arrest warrant was issued for Barım, actors Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Mehmet Günsur, Ceyda Düvenci, Nejat İşler, Rıza Kocaoğlu, Merve Dizdar, Dolunay Soysert, and Nehir Erdoğan had testified as witnesses at the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan as part of the investigation.

Following Barım's referral to the courthouse and her subsequent arrest by the court, it was claimed that actress Cansu Dere had left the famous manager's company and signed with another manager.

According to a report in Milliyet, it is being discussed that other actors may also leave the company of Ayşe Barım, who manages many names such as Pınar Deniz, Birce Akalay, Aslı Enver, Hande Erçel, Halit Ergenç, Merve Dizdar, and Hazal Kaya. 

It is also said that the famous names, who are rumored to be leaving once their contracts expire, are looking for another manager. 

Furthermore, it was claimed that a trustee would be appointed to ID İletişim.

CANSU DERE'S STATEMENT ON AYŞE BARIM

Cansu Dere clarified the reports regarding her departure from ID İletişim, the agency founded and co-owned by Ayşe Barım.

Sharing a post on her Instagram account, Cansu Dere stated, "A small correction and update. I was with ID İletişim for about a year recently, and we parted ways in March 2024. That means it has been exactly 11 months since my departure. Therefore, there is no new news on my end. I wanted to clarify both your questions and the reports firsthand. Best regards."

INFLUENCE AGENT

The term 'influence agent' was included in the prosecutor's referral for arrest regarding Barım. The regulation, known in the public eye as 'influence agent' legislation, had been withdrawn and was not enacted into law.

It was learned that Barım, who was arrested on charges of 'aiding an attempt to overthrow the government,' stated in her testimony, "I went there individually on my own."

The highlights from Barım's testimony are as follows:

"I am facing a very intense smear and defamation campaign. During this time, I have been subjected to very serious slanders for reasons I do not understand.

As far as I remember, I went to Gezi Park once or twice; I have not been there otherwise."

RELATIONSHIP WITH OSMAN KAVALA QUESTIONED

Ayşe Barım responded as follows to the question regarding Gezi detainee Osman Kavala:

"I had contact with Mehmet Osman Kavala while managing the promotional process for a film by director Fatih Akın. The filming of the movie in question took place in 2013. We decided to hold the after-party in Turkey at a business center owned by Kavala. My contact with Osman Kavala is limited to this."
