Jülide Kural, the life partner of 27 years to Kadir İnanır, one of the master names of Turkish cinema, has broken her silence regarding the controversies surrounding İnanır's will.
In a written statement sent to the "Gel Konuşalım" program, Kural emphasized that in the discussions taking place less than four months after İnanır's passing, respect must be shown for the actor's labor, will, and honor.
Even though not even 4 months have passed since Kadir İnanır was laid to rest, showing respect for his name, his labor, his will, and his honor is not merely a matter of loyalty. It is a human, moral, and conscientious responsibility. I believe that the respect to be shown for the values he defended throughout his life and the great labor he left behind should be held above all kinds of controversy.
Yeşilçam star Kadir İnanır, who starred in more than 180 films, passed away on June 26. The controversies returned to the agenda after the court case for the reading of İnanır's will was postponed to December 17.
It had been stated that İnanır had 28 legal heirs and that he had left all his assets, permissions regarding initiatives such as museums and foundations related to him, and his copyrights to Jülide Kural.
İnanır's nephew, actor Levent İnanır, had previously stated that he did not believe in the will, claiming that his uncle had been using heavy medication due to health problems since 2018. Levent İnanır had also announced that they would pursue legal action.
