Kadir İnanır wins lawsuit against production companies

Master artist of Turkish cinema Kadir İnanır has won the copyright lawsuit he filed against production companies that broadcast his films, including the unforgettable movie 72. Koğuş, without permission.

Speaking to Sibel Yükler from T24, İnanır said, "I think we achieved a good result in terms of understanding the value of labor and struggle." The petition for the lawsuit stated that the production companies had been generating significant revenue for years through the broadcast of the films on television channels and digital platforms without paying royalties. 

"WE ACHIEVED A GOOD RESULT"

Among the lawsuits he filed, İnanır won the cases against Arzu Film and Topkapı Film. The Istanbul 2nd Civil Court of Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights ruled that the production companies Arzu Film and Topkapı Film had unlawfully broadcast the 1977 film "İsyan", the 1986 film "Seyyid", and the 1988 film "72. Koğuş".

With this decision, the films in question can no longer be broadcast on any platform, including YouTube channels, through the production companies.
