A memorial program was held at the Yeşilköy Village Cemetery for the artist, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 33 due to cancer. In addition to the artist's relatives, a large number of citizens attended the memorial service. While participants prayed at Koyuncu's graveside, the artist's beloved works were also sung in unison.

The memorial program, organized as part of the "From Nazım to Kazım, the Black Sea is a Volcano" events that began in Istanbul and continued in various provinces along the Black Sea coast, concluded with a meaningful finale in the lands where the artist was born and raised.

Hopa Mayor Utku Cihan said in his speech there, "We remember Kazım Koyuncu with gratitude. We believe that we should not only remember him but also keep his legacy alive. This year, we shared his music and ideas with thousands of people. What is truly important is to raise new Kazıms who will continue his path."

Within the framework of the events, the crowd gathered at Hopa Park and then held a "Kazım Commemoration March." The events ended with a program where the artist's works were played and excerpts from his life were shared.
