Kim Kardashian case in Paris

In the French capital of Paris, 10 people appeared in court regarding the robbery in which Kim Kardashian's jewelry was stolen during the 2016 Paris Fashion Week.

The Paris court sentenced 7 defendants, including the ringleader Aomar At Khedache, to prison for "direct participation in or complicity in the robbery."

Among the defendants, 69-year-old Aomar At Khedache, who was alleged to be the leader of the incident, was sentenced to 8 years in prison with 5 years suspended; Yunice Abbas, Didier Dubreucq, and Marc-Alexandre Boyer were sentenced to 7 years in prison with 5 years suspended; and Harminy At Khedache was sentenced to 5 years in prison with 4 years suspended.

The 4-year prison sentence for the only female defendant, 80-year-old Christiane Glotin, and the 3-year prison sentence for François Delaporte were both fully suspended.

The sentences read by the presiding judge included fines in addition to prison terms. Florus Heroui and Gary Madar, who were stated to have provided information about the robbery, were acquitted.

"I APOLOGIZE A THOUSAND TIMES"

Khedache, who submitted his statement in writing because he had difficulty speaking during the hearing, expressed his regret by saying, "I apologize a thousand times." Khedache presented his defense through his lawyer due to health problems.

"THE VICTIMS EXPERIENCED GREAT FEAR"

Speaking after the announcement of the verdicts, Presiding Judge David De Pas stated, "No one may have been physically harmed, but the victims experienced great fear. The sentences were handed down without forgetting this reality."

Kim Kardashian's lawyers stated that their client was "satisfied" with the decision.
