Kızılcık Şerbeti screenwriter Merve Göntem detained
The screenwriter of the series Kızılcık Şerbeti was detained due to an interview she gave 4 years ago.
Merve Göntem, the screenwriter of the series Kızılcık Şerbeti, was detained at her home this evening.
Göntem was taken to the Vatan Police Headquarters for processing.
In a statement made by Merve Göntem's lawyer, it was noted that the specific charge has not yet been disclosed, but that Göntem was detained after a speech she gave years ago regarding the character "Eylül" in the series Çıplak, which was broadcast on a private streaming platform, resurfaced.
WHAT DID GÖNTEM SAY?
Merve Göntem, one of the screenwriters who penned the script for Kızılcık Şerbeti, also served as the screenwriter for the series "Çıplak," which was released on a digital platform in 2020.
Merve Göntem had used the following words in her statement regarding the character Eylül:
"It seems to me that she chose a fun way to sit at certain tables, to enter certain environments, and to realize her dream of going to Wales from the house where she lived with her grandmother in the neighborhood she lived in. Eylül's story is actually not a story of falling. Eylül is not uncomfortable with having sex for money. She is happy while counting the money. She has set a motivation for herself, such as going to Wales."
