World-renowned American jazz pianist Les McCann has passed away.
Les McCann, who fit more than 50 albums into his 64-year music career and achieved his greatest commercial success in 1969 with 'Compared to What', has passed away.
The jazz pianist, known for his song 'Compared to What', was hospitalized in recent weeks after contracting pneumonia.
It was reported that McCann, who had been receiving treatment for some time, passed away in Los Angeles.
'HE WAS A MUSICAL FORCE OF NATURE'
Following the death of the legendary jazz pianist, American record producer Quincy Jones stated, "He has been a musical force of nature since he hit the scene in the early '60s. Whenever I heard him, live or on record, he always did the unexpected."
The cause of death for 88-year-old Les McCann has not yet been announced.
