Actor and former General Art Director of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters, Levent Üzümcü, announced that he has entered the 100th day of the judicial control measure applied to him in the form of house arrest.
Sharing on his X account, Üzümcü stated that no indictment has been prepared against him yet and that there are no complaints filed. In his post, Üzümcü reacted to the measure applied, using the following expressions:
“Today is the 100th day of the house arrest given to me as a ‘precautionary?’ measure... there is neither a complaint nor an indictment prepared against me! Let’s say the indictment was prepared and I was found guilty of what I am accused of, there is ‘no prison time to serve’! Who knows what crime I am serving a sentence for!”
Üzümcü was detained on July 16, 2026, on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” due to a post he made on his social media account. Subsequently, it was decided to apply a judicial control measure in the form of house arrest.
The post the actor made before being detained contained harsh criticisms of the government and judicial processes. In his latest statement, Üzümcü drew attention to the duration of the judicial control measure and the absence of an indictment in the file.
