Obstacles continue to mount against the broadcast of the FOX series Kızıl Goncalar, produced by Gold Film and starring Özgü Namal and Özcan Deniz.

Filming permits for two locations, which had been redecorated at a cost of millions of liras under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, were canceled despite all payments having been made. Subsequently, another obstacle arose on December 25, 2023.

Filming permits at the Okmeydanı Darülaceze, where the hospital scenes for the character Dr. Levent, played by Özcan Deniz, were being shot, were canceled following instructions from the Ministry of Family and Social Services. A search for a new location has begun for the production, which has now halted for the second time.

A STRIKING DETAIL

Following the cancellation of the filming for Kızıl Goncalar, it emerged that Hamza Cebeci, the head of Darülaceze, was a contractor.

Hamza Cebeci was the contractor for the Işık Apartment building, which collapsed in the 1999 Düzce earthquake and became a grave for 20 people.

'SCENES CONTAINING OPPOSITION TO SOCIAL PEACE'

The justification provided by Darülaceze, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, for the cancellation of the filming permit included the following statements:

"In the meeting held on 25.12.2023 by the Permanent Committee of the Darülaceze Presidency, chaired by Darülaceze President Hamza Cebeci, it was decided that while permission had been granted for some scenes of the series Kızıl Goncalar, produced by Gold Prodüksiyon Yapımcılık Anonim Şirketi, to be filmed at our institution, the decision to grant permission has been unanimously revoked by the Permanent Committee decision no. 18 dated 2023. This is due to the fact that the first episode of the series contains scenes that polarize the public, denigrate spiritual values, and contain opposition to social peace, which is contrary to the founding philosophy of our institution, which has made no distinction of language, religion, race, gender, or sect for 128 years."
