Lost star Evangeline Lilly announces she is quitting acting
World-famous actress Evangeline Lilly has announced that she is quitting acting. Lilly stated, "I would like to write and influence people's lives in a more human way."
American actress Evangeline Lilly, who brought the character of 'Kate' to life in the iconic series Lost, has quit acting.
The 44-year-old star, who appeared in Ant-Man, Real Steel, Avengers, The Hurt Locker, and The Hobbit trilogy, made the following statement on her social media account:
"I am scared to admit this to the rest of the acting world, but ideally, 10 years from now, I would like to be a retired actress and have a family. I would like to write and influence people's lives in a more human way."
'I AM READY AND HAPPY'
Lilly continued her words by saying, "Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times. I might return to Hollywood one day, but for now, this is where I belong. A new season has begun, and I am ready and very happy."
'I HAVE NO ACTIVE WORK'
Speaking to Variety, the star said, "I have actually been on a hiatus from acting for the past three years (since I finished working on Quantumania). I have felt a great sense of fulfillment and joy during this time. I might return to acting tomorrow, two years from now, or never, but I currently have no active work in the industry and am not under any contractual obligations. I am dedicating my time to my humanitarian work and my writing."
