Corruption criticism from Mahsun Kırmızıgül: 'A bigger problem than terrorism'
Renowned artist Mahsun Kırmızıgül stated that Turkey's biggest problem is corruption, expressing that this situation is more dangerous than terrorism.
Mahsun Kırmızıgül stated that his name was targeted on a list claiming he "does not want a Turkey without terrorism." Kırmızıgül said, "Even if peace comes to this country, as long as corruption and injustice continue, the country will not improve."
Kırmızıgül noted that artists had prepared a list claiming some "do not want a Turkey without terrorism" and that he was included on it, stating, "When I was saying 'We are all brothers,' you didn't even know where you stood. Back then, we were doing everything we could in every field so that people wouldn't die and mothers wouldn't weep in this country. But know this: this country has a bigger problem than terrorism, and that is corruption."
CORRUPTION AND DANGER
Kırmızıgül stated that corruption is ten times more dangerous than terrorism, saying, "Three times the amount of money spent on internal conflict has been lost to corruption in this country. There is no difference between someone who rapes a child and a thief who steals the bread of this people. Whoever commits corruption, no matter who they are, is the greatest terrorist."
DEEP POVERTY
The artist emphasized that the country has been in deep poverty for 40 years because of those who commit corruption. "Go out to the streets, touch the people. The nation is in agony. Today, retirees are struggling to survive. The salaries received by a professor, a judge, a prosecutor, a doctor, a teacher, a soldier, a civil servant, and a worker are heartbreaking," he said.
Kırmızıgül stated that he has been working for the country's peace for years, adding, "Even if peace comes to this country, as long as there is such great corruption and injustice, this country will not recover. Corruption is equivalent to terrorism."
