Mahsun Kırmızıgül responds harshly to backlash over Iran post

As social debates continue regarding the protests that have been ongoing for weeks across Iran and remain on the agenda due to the impact of anti-regime demonstrations, citizens in many cities across the country are voicing their demands on the streets. During this process, the tightening of security measures and the occasional shutting down of communication lines have drawn attention. It is also reported that the death toll related to the demonstrations is rising.

Mahsun Kırmızıgül, one of the famous figures who shares his views on social events on social media, expressed his support for the Iranian people on the X platform. The famous artist stated, “I love the Iranian people. I want them to live in a country where they decide their own lives, without fear, without being under pressure, and without struggling with poverty. It is wrong to base things on Sharia and use the name of God to persecute people. Punishing in the name of God is an overstepping of human boundaries.”

However, Kırmızıgül's post was met with backlash from some users. In the harsh comments made on social media following the artist's posts, claims were raised that he was acting under the influence of America and Israel, and it was suggested that he remained silent on the Palestinian issue. Kırmızıgül responded directly to these accusations.

In a statement on his social media account, Kırmızıgül said, “Because of the post I made about Iran, some dishonorable people have written again without shame or embarrassment. Saying ‘America is making him write this,’ ‘Israel is making him write this.’ It wasn't enough, they also said, ‘He never wrote about Palestine.’”

Clearly stating his stance on the Palestinian issue, the artist said:

“I do not speak with slogans; I speak with a stance. I do not use pain as window dressing. I do not exploit the oppressed. Wherever there is persecution, I am saddened by it. Whether in Iran, Palestine, or Syria, whoever is oppressed, I am saddened for them regardless of their language, religion, nation, or color.

There is no longer an old Mahsun who stays silent about everything. If you choose to slander, you will pay the price for it in court.”
