Makeup artist Alp Kavasoğlu has passed away

43-year-old makeup artist Alp Kavasoğlu, who worked with many domestic and international celebrities, has passed away. The sad news was announced by makeup artist Fezi Altun. Altun stated, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Alp Kavasoğlu."

Kavasoğlu's funeral will be held today in Üsküdar following the afternoon prayer, after which he will be laid to rest at Karacaahmet Cemetery.

Kavasoğlu had done the makeup for many famous names such as Neslihan Atagül, Afra Saraçoğlu, İrem Helvacıoğlu, Ege Kökenli, Deniz Baysal, Ezgi Mola, and Aslı Enver.

'THIS DISEASE SHOULD NOT HAVE TOUCHED YOU'

While the cause of Alp Kavasoğlu's death was being questioned, a post from social media influencer Duygu Özaslan, who heard the sad news, was not delayed. Özaslan expressed her sorrow with the words, 'This disease should not have touched you. You brighten every room you enter. With your big heart and your big laugh, rest in light wherever you are going now. We will be deprived of you, your friendship, and your talent.'

WHO IS ALP KAVASOĞLU?

Kavasoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1981. He graduated from the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) Department of Sociology and Philosophy in 2004. After graduating from university, he worked as an organization coordinator at a private company. He then started working in the L'Oréal Professional products department.

Later, he worked as an educator and artistic director at the Mehmet Tatlı Academy. In 2010, he became a finalist in the world-renowned Trend Vision competition with the hair and makeup he created.

He received training from world-famous brands and individuals. With the training he received, he created his own specialized training programs and organized training sessions for hairdressers and makeup artists in Turkey.

In 2016, he served as a jury member alongside Sema Çelebi on the program titled “Böyle Çok Daha Güzelsin” (You Are Much More Beautiful This Way), hosted by Hande Sarıoğlu.
