Man who killed his ex-girlfriend in Beyoğlu has died
In Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, the man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend in the middle of the street following an argument, and then shot himself, has died in the hospital where he was taken.
In the incident that occurred around 08:30 in Hasköy, Beyoğlu, 31-year-old Özgür Kemal Akdemir shot his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend Başak Tekin with a firearm in the middle of the street following an argument, and then shot himself in the head with the same weapon. Citizens who heard the gunshots notified the police and medical teams. While police teams arriving at the scene took security measures, medical teams determined that Başak Tekin had lost her life, and the attacker, who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital. It was learned that Akdemir, who was taken to the hospital, passed away despite all interventions.
