Melek Baykal's confession about Cennet Mahallesi years later

Actress Melek Baykal was a guest on Müjdat Gezen's YouTube program.

Baykal made striking statements about Çağla Şıkel and Alişan, with whom she co-starred in the series 'Cennet Mahallesi', which aired between 2004 and 2007.

'I WILL NOT ACT WITH A MODEL AND A FOLK SINGER'

Stating that she did not want Çağla Şıkel and Alişan during the project phase, Melek Baykal said, "I had opposed both of them. I told our late producer Türker İnanoğlu, 'Forgive me. I will not act with a model and a folk singer.' İnanoğlu said, 'Trust me, it will work,' and it really did. Türker was a man who could smell the air very well. Çağla was very young, around 20-21 years old. On our first day on set, she arrived with curly hair, false eyelashes, and full makeup; I didn't say a word.

Çağla was constantly looking at the camera. In the following days, I couldn't take it anymore and pulled her aside, saying, 'Forget about top model Çağla. Here, you are 'Pembe's' daughter 'Sultan'. Take off your false eyelashes too.' She didn't hesitate and followed what I said to the letter. I also got very angry when Alişan wanted someone else to dub his voice.
