Millennials' mental health is in danger! According to research, they are the worst generation
According to research conducted by researchers at the University of Sydney since 1950, Millennials have been identified as the generation with the worst mental health.
A study by researchers at the University of Sydney has revealed a visible deterioration in the mental health of successive generations since 1950. According to this research, Millennials have been declared the group with the worst mental health compared to the generations before them.
The lead author of the study, Dr. Richard Morris, pointed out that Millennials do not show improvement as they age, stating, "We do not see the improvement we saw in previous generations during adulthood in people born in the 1990s." Researchers tracked changes in the mental health of more than 27,500 Australians from 2001 to 2020 and determined that the youngest generation suffers from the worst mental health problems.
Stating that social media plays a significant role in the deterioration of mental health, the researchers emphasized that social media platforms and excessive screen time cause an increase in problems such as anxiety, depression, and addiction. Furthermore, a lack of physical activity, insufficient sleep, and climate change are also thought to be effective in the worsening of mental health.
These findings are hoped to be used as a starting point to better understand the causes leading to the mental harm of young people and to halt this trend.
