Mourinho debate between Şahan Gökbakar and Gökhan Özoğuz
Galatasaray-supporting comedian Şahan Gökbakar and Fenerbahçe-supporting singer Gökhan Özoğuz clashed on social media following the 0-0 derby draw.
Şahan Gökbakar reacted on his X account to Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho, who said during the post-derby press conference regarding the Galatasaray bench, "I have to thank the referee. Because in the situation I mentioned, everyone on the other bench was jumping around like monkeys."
The comedian tagged the Turkish Football Federation and wrote, "Are you considering penalizing Mourinho, who said those on the Galatasaray bench were jumping around like monkeys?"
"IS IT BECAUSE YOU HAD NO CHANCES?"
Athena lead singer Gökhan Özoğuz responded to Şahan Gökbakar's post as follows:
"Is it because you had no chances in the match? The 'jumping like monkeys' remark is not penalized because it is a metaphor, but we might consider it if there were penalties for the same person's full-mouthed profanity or for threatening the referee by wagging a finger."
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, COMPLAINTS TO UEFA AND FIFA
Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sports Club announced that it would file a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office against Mourinho and would also lodge complaints with UEFA and FIFA.
Fenerbahçe Sports Club also stated, "Trying to portray this remark as racism is a completely malicious approach. We hereby inform the public that we will exercise our legal rights regarding this pathetic slander, which is aimed at taking the competition off the pitch and manipulating the agenda."
