Umman Özkul, the wife of Yeşilçam legend Münir Özkul, who was 25 years his junior, has passed away at the hospital where she was receiving treatment.
Umman Özkul, the wife of the master of Turkish cinema Münir Özkul, who passed away seven years ago, has succumbed to the cancer she had been battling for some time. The news of Umman Özkul's death was announced by the master artist's daughter, Güner Özkul.
HER DAUGHTER ANNOUNCED THE NEWS
In her social media post, Güner Özkul announced the funeral arrangements, stating, "My father's companion of 40 years, his wife Umman (Altınay), has passed into eternity. Her funeral will be held on 08.08.2025, following the noon prayer at Zincirlikuyu Mosque, and she will be laid to rest at Kilyos Cemetery."
HER GREATEST DREAM WAS TO MAKE A DOCUMENTARY
One of Umman Özkul's greatest desires was to prepare a documentary detailing the career and life of her husband, Münir Özkul, who passed away in 2018. Özkul did not live long enough to see this dream realized.
