Musician Emir Yeşil has passed away
It has been announced that Emir Yeşil, the former lead singer of the band Dolapdere Big Gang, has passed away. The 43-year-old Yeşil had been struggling with health issues for a long time.
Renowned theater, cinema, and opera artist Aslı Omağ announced the loss of her partner Emir Yeşil on her social media account with the words, "We lost our dear Emir this morning."
The young musician, who had been battling health problems for some time, will be laid to rest today.
WHO IS EMİR YEŞİL?
Emir Yeşil was born in Istanbul in 1981. He grew up listening to various genres ranging from heavy metal to soul, and pop music to funk. Emir, who began his stage career at the age of 16, continued to perform with many bands.
During this process, he also learned to play the guitar, keyboard, and drums.
During his years studying music at university, he worked with İskender Paydaş, reaching a significant level in both sound engineering and as a studio vocalist.
In 2006, he became the lead singer of the band Dolapdere Big Gang. Their debut album achieved great success, staying at number 1 on the charts for 8 weeks.
The band released a total of 3 albums and performed more than 350 concerts in Turkey and around the world.
