Mustafa Sandal issues harsh criticism over the appointment of a trustee to TELE1! 'Journalists who bring bread to their homes...'
Famous artist Mustafa Sandal, in a statement made on social media regarding the appointment of a trustee to the television channel TELE1, described the situation as a form of censorship against press freedom.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to appoint a trustee to the TELE1 channel through the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF).
While this development has sparked various reactions from political circles and the public, famous singer Mustafa Sandal also shared his views on the matter via his social media account.
Sandal used the following expressions in his statement:
"The appointment of a trustee to Tele 1 is a form of censorship applied to press freedom! If the channel owner is guilty and is convicted before the law, of course they should serve their sentence, but it is thought-provoking for our country's image and our future that journalists who bring bread to their homes lose their jobs and cannot report freely! A free press is the mirror of modern societies."
