The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to appoint a trustee to the TELE1 channel through the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF).

Sandal used the following expressions in his statement:

"The appointment of a trustee to Tele 1 is a form of censorship applied to press freedom! If the channel owner is guilty and is convicted before the law, of course they should serve their sentence, but it is thought-provoking for our country's image and our future that journalists who bring bread to their homes lose their jobs and cannot report freely!
